We are currently working on a lot of new material this summer. You may see us pop up in Asheville in July, but other than that EOE will not be performing live much until the end of summer:

expect good things come late summer and fall when we will be debuting these new songs as headliners at the Pride Charlotte Festival on August 27, 2011. some info on that:

Where: Uptown Charlotte, South Tryon Street, between 3rd and Stonewall Street
When: Saturday, August, 27, 2011
Festival hours: Noon-8 p.m.
Projected attendance: 12,000 participants

EOE is also pleased to announce that we have been booked to play the French Broad River Fall Festival in Hot Springs, NC. This Festival combines a one day music and camping festival with an Oktoberfest style micro brew festival and mashes em both into one hell of a good time (and you don't have to drive home.)

Also, be on the lookout for our first ever DVD, which is in the final stages of editing now.

THE DEAL: Charlotte group Eyes of the Elders releases four-song EP.

THE GOOD: Emcees Bearcat and Ricky Radar have offered different versions of Eyes of the Elders since the group first started in 2004, but its latest incarnation, backed by a full band, remains intact on this latest offering. Guitarist Austin Hill, formerly of Charlotte band Humans, leaves more of a mark on Amerikan Night, giving harmonies and backing vocals and sporadic riffs to drive the music forward. "Dopest Night" describes life on stage at an EOE show — "Kids bouncing around like we got the juice/Heartbeat, bass drums fused as one, now if that don't get you, check the lyrics son" — in the vein of Eminem's "Lose Yourself." "What's Done is Done" is driven by a repeated sample. "A Powerful Thirst" is driven by a smooth Hill vocal. The final track, "American Man," is the album's strongest. Built off a Hill riff and highlighted by the violin work of Christina Swinger and poignant lyrics, the song is instantly catchy.

The Bad: That it's only four songs.

The Verdict: Each time EOE releases a new album, it's solid from start to finish and always leaves you wanting more, and Amerikan Night is no different. Through four songs, the group not only showcases its musical and lyrical talents, but also the diversity within the hip-hop genre.

EOE Returns to Charlotte @ Neighborhood Theatre Dec. 4th

We are very happy to announce that Eyes of the Elders will be headlining a show at Neighborhood
Theatre http://www.neighborhoodtheatre.com/ on December 4, 2010.

The show will begin at nine thirty sharp with the debut of a brand new project called Kharma Kids.
This hiphop project features EOE emcees Bearcat and Ricky Radar combining forces with emcees Shamus and Reese to spit some of the hottest fire that Charlotte has ever seen.

Following Kharma Kids short set, we are pleased to announce that The Stereofedilics (www.stereof.com) will be coming down from Asheville, NC to treat NODA heads to a band that "is impressive in and of itself—with a retro-rock vibe, tight rhythms and sinuous vocals—more impressive is the fact that this sound is created by just two people. Performing on seven instruments between the two of them, Chris Padgett and Melissa McGinley create the rich sound of at least a five-piece band." --Flagstaff LIVE!, Flagstaff, AZ

Eyes of the Elders will hit the stage sometime around eleven p.m. and will be pulling out all the stops playing several new songs as well as many crowd favorites.

check the "show" section of our website if you haven't recently. . over 15 shows have been added over the past two weeks. EOE is excited to be hitting the road pretty hard this fall with shows in Vermont, Maryland, Raleigh, Wilmington, Asheville, and Blowing Rock just to name a few.

the next EOE show will be at Wild Wings Cafe in the Epicenter on March 5....incidently our drummer the Imperial Penguin's birthday. gonna be a good night for sure. . . see you out there.
